Join musicians Ailsa McGilvary-Howard and Monica Tønning for a wonderful programme of pieces for cello and piano.

The programme consists of many highlights such as “The Swan” by Saint-Saëns, “Apres un reve” and “Sicilienne” by Fauré, movements from Bach's solo suite in G major as well as the first movement of Brahms' cello sonata in E minor amongst less well-known but absolutely stunning works such as, "Living Light" by Sophie Hutchings and Vaughan Williams “Six studies in English folksongs”.

McGilvary-Howard and Tønning met by chance at Kaikōura's St Paul's Presbyterian Church earlier this year, when Tønning was using the church as her rehearsal room while travelling through.

They quickly agreed to meet in the evening to play chamber music together, and they have done so ever since. They use every opportunity to meet and rehearse together and this has developed into a great musical match as well as a friendship.

Cash sales for tickets will also be available on the door.
